Rinsing dishes before putting into dishwasher

We have a regular Cylinda dishwasher from the landlord. Can I ask if I need to rinse the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher?
According to this article, I actually shouldn’t rinse the dishes. Am I at the risk of clogging the machine if I don’t rinse them? Thanks!

  • Hello Jan,

Even though it in most cases is not neccesary to rinse the dishes before putting them into the dishwasher, we strongly suggest that you do.

There has been an ongoing debate for many years if you should rinse or not. Some say you should, some say you shouldn't.
However, tests made in an controlled environment with an ATP-device (measure sanitary level) show that dishes that have been rinsed are far more clean than dishes that havn't been rinsed.

And as you also mentioned, with more food left on the dishes there is an increased risk of clogging the drain and the spray arms.

    Better safe than sorry, right?

    Best regards,
